The Christmas Celebration

On the last school day of December, the parents and the community are asked to assemble at the school to share in the joys of the season and prepare for Christmas and the values it signifies. The students stage a small pageant, a live crèche and assist in a religious celebration with the participation of  an invited priest. This is usually followed by an early surprise visit by Santa Claus who distributes gifts to the children, followed in turn by a reception for all present.

The Spring “Carnevale” — February

At the beginning of the Lent season, the school organizes a special event “Carnevale” – a day of merrymaking and fun. The children are encouraged to wear the traditional costumes of the clowns and characters of this period – Pulcinella, Arlecchino, Colombina etc. and children wearing the costumes are rewarded with prizes. Special guests and performers are invited to attend.

Easter Liturgy

The Saturday previous to Palm Sunday, the school assembles to reflect on the meaning of Easter in the presence of an invited priest. The traditions of Easter and the message of rebirth and peace are explained. Parents, students and the community at large reflect on the importance of the message and are invited to partake to the Easter celebrations in their respective communities. This occasion is capped with a reception shared by all.

Closing Ceremonies

This event takes place on the last day of school in June. The parents are invited to witness the accomplishments of the children through skits, poems and songs presented by each class. The final report card is handed out, prizes for academic achievement are presented and two bursaries are given to two deserving graduating students.
